To give or not to give: Dilemma that underlies an existence proof


Using elements of Sáenz-Ludlow and Zellweger‘s (2012) proposal, based on Peirce‘s triadic sign theory, for interpreting meaning-making in the classroom and teacher semiotic mediation, our research centred on pre-service mathematics teacher‘s meaning-making of the procedure needed to prove a theorem, specifically, an existence theorem.
